Go-karts in charity drive
OVER 50 people and a team from Silverstone Race Circuit turned out in driving force at the Friends of Addenbrooke’s Annual Kart challenge at Caxton Karting to help raise £1200 for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit.
Competition on the track was fierce as teams from Price Bailey, Green Heat, Arthur D Little, Signify and Cambridge Investments fought for top position during the evening’s endurance race.
Several karts were flagged into the 'sin bin' to cool down for a few minutes when they broke the strict safety rules – which incurred additional donations of £1 per ‘sin’!
Silverstone quickly took the lead, setting an all time fastest lap for the Caxton circuit with Cambridge-based Signify finishing in overall first place and taking away the trophy on the night.
Signify CEO, Dave Abraham said: "We had a fantastic time at the go-karting challenge. The event itself was well run and the racing was both competitive and fun. It was great to win the trophy and at the same time to help raise money for a very worthwhile charity."
