Addenbrooke’s Abroad assists the placement of many medical student electives in resource-poor countries.

Addenbrooke's Abroad bursaries were awarded to:

Jason Ali: Northern District Hospital, Espirito Santo, Vanuatu – prevalence and incidence of different types of malaria
- Meredith Bowles: St Luke’s Hospital, Mpwapwa, Tanzania – active participation in HIV clinic. Download case study.
- Ailbhe Burke: Calicut Medical College, Kerala, India – audit of protocols to minimise the risk of hospital-acquired infections
- Nisreen Fahmy: Institute of Endemic Disease, Khartoum, Sudan – development of clinical algorithms for diagnosis of TB. Download case study.
- Annalise Katz-Summercorn: Kisumu Hospital, Kenya – active on wards and with Kenyan Orphan Project Medical clinics
- Michael Riste: Mpilo Central Hospital, Bulawayo, Zimbabwe – active participation in medical clinic. Download case study.
- Senem Tugrul: Chi Minh City Hospital, Vietnam – design of a double-blind, randomised study of encephalitis therapies

- Thomas Williams to Ambelal Heinrich Memorial Trust Clinic and childrens clinics of Reaching the Unreached and Vellore Christian Medical College, Tamil Nadu, India
