Raising money for the paediatric oncology ward – Ward C2.
On 7th September 2008 I am leaving the UK to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. When I booked this trip one year ago, I was blissfully unaware that I would be doing it for charity on behalf of our dear god-daughter Chloe Saunders.
Chloe is 8 years old and was diagnosed with Osteo sarcoma (a form of bone cancer) in April this year. As with most children in her situation, the last few months have been really tough for both her and her family. They have spent the best part of the summer on Ward C2, as Chloe has needed some quite intensive chemotherapy, but the staff and the surroundings have really helped them all to get through it. I know that Ward C2 has become very important to Chloe and it is her express wish that any money I raise should go to the Ward.
