Inside Addenbrooke’s’ Critical Care: Virtual Seminar
Inside Addenbrooke’s’ Critical Care: The Impact of COVID-19 with Jane Olds and Charlotte Summers. Hosted by ACT Trustee Chris Rees
During the peak of COVID-19, in mid-April, there were around 140 COVID-19 patients in the hospital needing urgent, round the clock care. There were, on average, 10 new patients admitted per day, which put unprecedented pressures on our ICU and Critical Care teams.
During ACT’s Emergency Appeal, £1m was raised to support the hospital through the crisis – this was achieved thanks to generous donations from our community.
This virtual seminar will provide these supporters with a behind the scenes look at how the teams coped with challenges, capacity, infection, PPE, Staffing and resources, crisis management and decision making under extreme stress.
