The 1766 Club
Since Dr John Addenbrooke’s founding donation in 1766, significant gifts have played a key role in the hospital’s ongoing success and development.
The 1766 Club was launched to celebrate this admirable tradition and to honour the far-sighted, philanthropic individuals who are able to make a personal annual gift of £1,000 or more. These gifts are vital in shaping our hospitals’ future and in return we offer members a personal link to the hospital through a bespoke programme of engagements, including:
- Behind the scenes and tailored tours
- Discussions with clinicians and key decision makers
- The chance to meet like-minded people with our hospitals’ success at heart

"1766 Club events are informative, inspirational and, above all, very enjoyable and friendly. My association with the Club has been such a pleasure and to feel involved, in some small way, with the exciting developments at the Addenbrooke's campus is very rewarding."

"The 1766 Club holds a special interest for me and my wife Linda. The events never disappoint; they are always stimulating and pleasurable. It's a huge privilege to listen to such amazing people speak at the events, when all we wanted to do by joining was to say thank you."
